What Do I Teach?
If you're looking to start playing the trumpet or cornet, or want to take your skills to the next level, I can help! I teach students from the very first note to more intermediate concepts, making sure the learning process is both fun and rewarding. With five years of experience under my belt, I’ve learned how to tailor lessons to each student's individual needs and learning style. Through my own dedication, I’ve been recognized with twelve trumpet achievement awards, proving I’m committed to the instrument and excited to share that passion with you.

About Me
My name is Hayden Ostrowski, and I am writing to share my extensive experience and passion for playing the trumpet. Over the past five years, I have dedicated myself to honing my skills, and I have been fortunate to receive recognition for my talent from various organizations. My performance background includes playing for masses at St. Gerard and St. James Catholic Church, as well as participating in the Lansing Catholic school band and pit orchestra. I've also enjoyed the challenge and camaraderie of marching band, and have further broadened my experience through participation in the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp symphony and concert orchestras.
Notably, I've held the first chair position in both the Spartan Youth Wind Symphony and the Spartan Youth Chamber Honors Ensemble, solidifying my commitment to excellence. I've also had the humbling experience of playing taps for veteran's avocations, honoring their service. My dedication to my craft is further evidenced by my five participations in the MSBOA Solo and Ensemble, where I consistently achieved top ratings, including straight ones twice in middle school and three times during my freshman year of high school, which afforded me the opportunity to compete at the state level. I was even honored to be chosen as the first chair soloist for the National Sousa March Day event at Marshall Music. These experiences have culminated in various awards, including the Director Award, medals for solo and ensemble, the Fine Applied Arts Band Award, and a certificate for my participation in the pit orchestra for "My Fair Lady," all presented to me by my dedicated band director, Jan Teitsort.
Furthermore, as a freshman, I was entrusted to serve as section leader for the trumpet section, a role in which I mentored and supported younger students, even providing private trumpet lessons on the side. During one memorable concert, I stepped into the role of soloist, performing the demanding "Carnival of Venice" in place of an ill senior trumpeter. I proudly joined the LCHS band as one of the leading trumpet players during my freshman year in high school. I want to assure that I have all the necessary documentation and reference letters to verify any of the experiences I have mentioned above. On a more personal note, I have progressed from using a student horn early on to acquiring a professional Andreas Eastman trumpet, and I now primarily play on my cherished antique Bach Stradivarius 37 professional trumpet, which was purchased later in that year.
Sincerely, Hayden Ostrowski
